The Kisalove Community Center

A place to help working people find jobs and housing, move away from hard drugs, and stay out of eviction, hotel living and transit traps.

“I wrote Hard Times while I was living it. The Kisalove Community Center is so the next person doesn’t have to.” — Austin Jackson

What we’re building

Highlights

Help already exists. People just don’t reach it fast enough. We want to be the friendly front door that gets you there.

Jobs connection

Résumé help, job leads, and a hand getting to the interview.

Housing help & eviction prevention

Got a notice or a court date? We connect you to existing rent help and free legal help, fast. We refer to housing. We don’t run it.

Recovery-first, drug-free space

No drugs or alcohol on site. The rule is about conduct, not people. Everyone moving away from hard drugs is welcome here.

Transit & car help

Getting signed up for reduced-fare transit, and finding help when a car break-in or breakdown threatens your job.

Community Drop Boxes

Coming to local spots. Little-free-library style: books, food, clothes and resource sheets. Free means free, no strings. Take what you need, leave what you can.

A Kisalove park, someday

A simple, safe outdoor place for the community to gather. It’s an early idea, and we’ll share more when it’s real.

Honest updates

Progress log

  • Community Drop Box design finished and offered to local churches.

  • Research on sponsors, zoning and first grants.

  • The Community Center becomes Kisalove’s top priority.
